The Comcast Technology Center builds upon Atelier Ten’s experience with the original Comcast Tower to redefine sustainability for a high-rise tower in Philadelphia.
The project is a mixed-use development, that achieved LEED Platinum in both Core and Shell and Commercial Interiors standards. The building and is comprised of forty-four floors offices space with a TV studio space, fifteen floors of five-star hotel, and five floors of public amenity and retail space.
The building has a high-performance facade and efficient mechanical systems, including active chilled beams with air-side economizers and heat recovery. Specialty amenity spaces in the hotel sky lobby and winter garden atria have been designed to maximize daylight and expansive city views, as well as thermal and visual comfort.
Atelier Ten comprehensively addressed the approach of the project to sustainability through careful energy and systems design, indoor environmental quality, water consumption, and sustainable material selection to achieve its LEED Platinum goals.
