Anthony Timberlands Center Featured on CBS’ America BYDESIGN™

The Anthony Timberlands Center for Design & Materials Innovation at the University of Arkansas was featured on the Season 6 finale of America BYDESIGN™ on CBS, a series that celebrates exemplary architecture, innovation, and design from across the country.

What Atelier Ten did with us was to be very much involved from the front end in developing an integrated environmental systems approach which looked at everything from natural ventilation, passive solar techniques as well as of course the the use of mass timber and wood throughout the building, minimizing the use of concrete overall and making sure that all spaces were filled with natural sunlight. So truly a collaborative, interdisciplinary effort, and Atelier Ten was at the lead of this throughout the entire project.

Designed by Grafton Architects and MODUS Studio, the Anthony Timberlands Center is a landmark academic building for the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design and a powerful demonstration of the potential of mass timber construction. Atelier Ten led the project’s sustainability visioning and environmental design strategy, helping shape a building that integrates daylight, natural ventilation, stormwater management, and embodied carbon reduction into a cohesive architectural expression.

The feature highlights the project’s role in advancing sustainable design and showcasing the potential of mass timber as a catalyst for innovation, education, and regional economic growth. We are proud to have collaborated with the University of Arkansas and the wider design team on this nationally recognized project.
