Atelier Ten are providing the building services, environmental and fire engineering for this exciting new regeneration project in Leith. The development will introduce community spaces along with commercial spaces benefiting the local community and wider area.
Western Harbour Park, once completed, will regenerate 4.4 hectares – the same size as Queen Street Gardens East and Central or at least four football pitches – of currently derelict land into parkland alongside new residential development, according to separate planning papers. The development includes shops, commercial space, a health centre, a new primary school and one of the largest new parks in the city for over 100 years. It follows the approval of a revised design framework and it is claimed the proposals “will realise the next stage of the wider masterplan to transform empty, reclaimed, land in the Port of Leith into a new waterfront community”.
