The new Galashiels Community Campus combines a replacement Galashiels Academy with a new public swimming pool and wider community facilities.
Located on the existing academy site and part of Scott Park, the development will provide a modern secondary school for over 1,000 pupils alongside extensive sports and community facilities.
The project is funded through the Scottish Government’s Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP), which sets ambitious targets for energy performance and building quality. JM Architects lead the design team, with Atelier Ten providing environmental and building services engineering consultancy to support the delivery of the project’s sustainability objectives.
Centralised air handling plant and heat pump technology are being integrated into the architecture from an early stage, supporting an informed and efficient M&E services strategy while helping the project achieve its low-energy design ambitions.
