The Economist Building

with Cushman & Wakefield

The CAT A and B refurbishment and fit-out of three floors of this Grade II* listed building, to provide a corporate headquarters facility for Fiat.

Atelier Ten undertook a complex refurbishment and upgrade project to this A and P Smithson brutilist 1960’s icon.
The space restrictions and the need to retain the listed internal features while at the same time providing a modern, high quality working environment was a challenging brief.
The works included the replacement of the perimeter cooling systems, the integrations of lighting within the structure, and the provision of new technical facilities, all within a building without floor or ceiling voids.
The works were completed within a very tight time schedule and were adjudged to be a great success.
