Atelier Ten Scoops Four Awards at the Scottish Property Awards 2024

We are delighted to announce that four of our projects won a Scottish Property Award this year. Each award recognises the design team’s contribution to creating truly inspiring spaces that work for the building’s occupants.

  • Eastworks won the Architectural Excellence Award (Commercial Use).

Atelier Ten delivered the building services engineering, environmental design and lighting design for this project which provides over 30,000 sq. ft of modern office space in a former purifier shed. A new steel structure was installed to support mezzanine levels and open flexible floor space with expanses of curtain wall glazing. The listed façade at the rear boasts original features such as decorative sandstone arches around the windows. The final product delivered the refurbishment of interesting and innovative spaces, including 5 standalone units / studios / offices.

Atelier Ten delivered the building services engineering and environmental design for this ASN school campus for pupils aged 3 through to 18 with severe, complex and profound medical needs. The new school design incorporates leading technology to assist pupils whilst also making the building intuitive to the needs and requirements of the pupils. Intelligent Building Management Systems, sensor grids and assistive technology are proposed to enhance the educational experience for the children and contribute to minimising operation energy demand.

  • 10 Clyde Place, Buchanan Wharf won Large Development of the Year (Commercial Buildings)

Atelier Ten delivered the fire engineering for this project. 10 Clyde Place, Buchanan Wharf is the final development of Drum Property Groups £500 million regeneration of Buchanan Wharf on Glasgow’s Clydeside. The final development consists of a new 9-storey office building totalling 75,000 sq. ft. Atelier Ten worked closely with the design team to develop the fire strategy for the building and successfully provided strategic fire engineering solutions for structural fire requirements, means of escape and firefighting facilities.

  • The Linen Quarter Pilmuir Works won Regeneration Project of the Year

Atelier Ten delivered the fire engineering for this project. The Linen Quarter at Pilmuir Works is a Category A-listed damask linen factory located within Dunfermline. The restoration of the factory bridges the gap between preserving the heritage of old structures and meeting the demands of modern living to create a vibrant new residential community. Atelier Ten developed an alternative solution for the means of escape strategy within the development. A strategic fire engineering solution was carried out to justify the mezzanine floor areas which were more than the recommended limits stated in the Technical Handbook. The solution gave the design team flexibility to allow for the extension in mezzanine floor area to achieve their design aspirations.

Congratulations to all the other winners.
