Net Zero the Hero

Atelier Ten is proud to announce that the Kohler Environmental Center at Choate Rosemary Hall is officially Net Zero Energy Building Certified!

The project, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, is certified under the ILFI’s original version of Zero Energy Certification. The project is the first in Connecticut to earn Net Zero Energy Building Certification and the largest ILFI certified project in New England. Atelier Ten provided Environmental Design, Lighting Design, and Benchmarking services to achieve the project’s ambitious goals. After it’s completion in 2012, our team continued working with the design team and the school to verify the project was performing as predicted. We’re proud to say it’s meeting expectations.

The project is a steward for environmental responsibility and teaches students about sustainability and the environment by example.

Congratulations to the project team for this ambitious achievement!
