GIA Awards 2021

Atelier Ten is delighted to have 3 projects receive commendations at the 2021 GIA Awards:

  • The Great Tapestry of Scotland, Galashiels received a commendation in the leisure / arts category. Atelier Ten provided the building services for this project. The development is a new, purpose-built museum. Atelier Ten considered and advised, in detail, the conditions required for the tapestry display, paying particular attention to the relative humidity and temperature of the environment within which the artwork shall be on show. The building utilises high thermal mass, low energy lighting, passive ventilation and daylight linking controls in order to achieve low energy performance.
  •  Rutherglen Links Office Pavilions, Rutherglen received a commendation in the office / commercial / industrial / retail category. Atelier Ten provided the building services, benchmarking, environmental design and lighting design for this project. The environmental engineering utilises vertical shading recesses, optimised floor depths, natural cross ventilation, exposed thermal mass and natural lighting as passive strategies, to provide an efficient building with healthy spaces to work within.
  •  Elgin and Appin Wards (Stobhill Mental Health Estate), Stobhill received a commendation in the healthcare category. Atelier Ten provided the fire engineering for this project. The two purpose-built acute mental health wards also won the Healthcare Development of the Year at the 2021 Scottish Property Awards.

Congratulations to all the winners!
