Buchanan Wharf PRS

with Cooper Cromar and Stallan-Brand

Drum Property Group are maintaining momentum at Buchanan Wharf with a detailed application for a build to rent tower on the eastern edge of Tradeston in Glasgow city centre.

The £85m development will deliver 324 apartments as part of a wider regeneration of three city blocks anchored by Barclays Bank the scheme overlooks the planned Kingston Square by way of a ground floor commercial unit and seeks to extend the city’s urban grain across the River Clyde.

Building 5 of the development is located on the South Eastern edge of the site, sitting adjacent to elevated railway lines leading to Glasgow Central Station and with stature and scale it acts as an urban marker for the development when seen from the city and also when arriving into the city by train.

Consisting of two 18 storey residential towers sitting on a commercial use and car parking podium, current design iterations include dining space, a gym, a residents’ lounge and extensive high level communal roof terraces.

Atelier Ten worked closely with the architect to develop the fire strategy for the building and successfully provided strategic fire engineering solutions to overcome the challenges associated with the mixed uses and high rise design.
