The news is out! Eastworks wins the 2024 BCO Regional Award for Refurbished/Recycled Workplace

Eastworks in Dalmarnock has won the 2024 British Council for Offices Regional Award for Refurbished/Recycled Workplace. This project transformed the dilapidated Dalmarnock Purifier Shed into modern office and studio accommodation spanning over 30,000 sq ft.

Atelier Ten is proud to have delivered the building services and environmental design for this building. A large eastern glazed façade helps capture the early morning passive solar heat and also helps illuminate deep into the space. A balance of light transmissions and g-value was pursued to obtain an optimum balance in performance. The majority of the fabric of Eastworks has been re-used, ensuring significant embodied carbon savings. This re-use, as well as an earlier re-roofing contract has contributed to the repurposing of an important heritage building, giving it a new lease of life as a carbon neutral and creative workspace.
