SAHMRI Wins 5 2014 Australian Architecture Awards

The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) won five 2014 Australian Architecture Awards this July including The Keith Neighbour Award for Commercial Architecture, Robert Dickson Award for Interior Architecture, Jack McConnell Award for Public Architecture, Derrick Kendrick Award for Sustainable Architecture and the COLORBOND® Award for Steel Architecture.

From its shimmering façade of sun shades to the lab spaces deep within, the new headquarters building for the South Australia Health and Medical Research Institute is filled with daylight. Our team performed daylight, solar control and energy analysis for Woods Bagot to develop the externally shaded façade, which brings in ample daylight without solar heat gain while maintaining a highly transparent façade.
