Marta Bouchard on Sustainability Approach to UMass Amherst Design Building

Marta Bouchard, an Atelier Ten New York associate and co-leader of the Environmental Design practice, spoke at the UMass Amherst 2017 Building and Construction Technology Lecture Series on April 5. Her lecture, entitled “Envelope Strategies of the Design Building,” delved into the strategies and analysis utilized in Atelier Ten’s approach to sustainable design on the UMass Amherst Design Building with Leers Weinzapfel Associates. Atelier Ten provided services in environmental design, energy analysis, LEED administration, and lighting design, contributing to the university’s commitment to sustainability. The building, the first and largest cross laminated timber academic building in the US, is targeting a LEED Gold certification. Marta supported Atelier Ten’s team as the project manager under principal-in-charge Mark Loeffler, the Atelier Ten New Haven director.
