Jamie Miller Ph.D. Eng

Director of Regenerative Design

As Director of Regenerative Design at Atelier Ten, Jamie explores the intersection of biomimicry, resilience, and systems-led environmental design.

Widely recognized as a leading voice in regenerative design, Jamie leverages his training as an engineer and work with indigenous communities to translate ecological intelligence into practical strategies for buildings, campuses, and communities. His approach is rooted in the belief that the built environment can actively support the health, adaptability, and long-term vitality of the living systems it depends on.

Jamie’s project work spans regenerative masterplans, advanced resilience strategies, and nature-led architectural design concepts internationally, including the Waterfront Toronto’s Port Lands transformation, Qiddiya City’s Festival Grounds in Riyadh, and the Tengah General and Community Hospital in Singapore. At Atelier Ten, he helps teams embed regenerative thinking into projects from the earliest stages, connecting ecological performance with design ambition and long-term value.

Beyond project work, Jamie shares his expertise regularly with the wider industry through local and global speaking engagements and thought leadership. His work has been featured in Forbes, Fortune, Fast Company, and Nature Conservancy of Canada. Jamie holds a PhD in Engineering with a focus on urban resilience and systems-level biomimicry, in addition to education from Janine Benyus and Indigenous Elders.
