About the role

We are looking for an environmental designer with sustainable design experience to consult on projects and support Atelier Ten’s continued success and future growth in Singapore and APAC.

As a member of the environmental team, you will report to a Senior Environmental Designer or above. The post holder will be responsible for supporting work on a range of projects assisting the delivery of environmental and sustainability advice on projects for both internal clients and external clients. This will involve providing consultancy on environmental design, sustainability benchmarking/implementation, building energy optimisation, daylight & shading design, sustainable systems, materials and waste. This consultancy will be demonstrated through sound analytics including building physics.

Projects will range from masterplanning to detailed design of specific buildings across all scales and locations of the globe. Using industry benchmark and internal standards, the post holder will ensure not only the timely delivery of accurate project information but also provide a point of contact between engineering staff and the other members of the environmental team.

Key accountabilities

  • Coordinate, complete and ensure Green Rating projects in any given green rating scheme (Green Mark, LEED etc.)
  • Complete simulations such as energy modelling, CFD, daylighting etc.
  • Actively committed to pursuing CPD of all relevant disciplines
  • Demonstrate reasonable knowledge of environmental design, sustainability benchmarking/implementation, building energy optimisation, daylight & shading design, sustainable systems, materials, waste and building physics
  • Actively committed to developing specialist skills in one, or more, disciplines
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Atelier Ten’s approach
  • Able to provide accurate calculations and informative design options in relevant disciplines
  • Deliver technical solutions in accordance with client brief
  • Help to facilitate the development of client brief by supporting other members of their team
  • Willingness to develop an awareness and understanding of other disciplines
  • Demonstrate reasonable knowledge of environmental design, sustainability benchmarking/implementation, building energy optimisation, daylight & shading design, sustainable systems, materials, waste and building physics
  • Actively commit to developing specialist skills in one or more disciplines
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Atelier Ten’s approach

Who are you?

Experience

  • Sustainability, Engineering, Architectural or related disciplines
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a field related to environmental building design, architecture, building services engineering, and/ or building science
  • Minimum three-years’ professional experience in a sustainability consulting practice or related design firm or within an engineering environment.
  • LEED AP in BD+C (required)
  • GMM/GMP (plus point)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign), and Rhino is highly desired
  • In addition, skill with such software as Revit, “R,” Grasshopper, Ladybug/Honeybee, Radiance, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES, D3, or general programming or data visualization skill would be of interest
  • Solid interest in environmental and energy efficient design
  • Have undertaken a wide variety of project work
  • Practical knowledge of project work coupled with an understanding of project management tools
  • Understanding of the deliverables associated with projects within the public and private sector
  • Understanding of project co-ordination
  • Team player
  • Appreciates the need for the application of consistent standards and metrics

Skills

  • Good understanding on green rating schemes such as Green Mark, LEED etc.
  • Manage ESD projects independently
  • Good understanding in simulations e.g. energy modelling, CFD, daylight & glare modelling.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Ability to prioritise work loads
  • Good writing skills for producing written reports
  • Effective IT skills for producing relevant material, including knowledge and application of building physics packages
  • Demonstrated graphic and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Architectural or related disciplines
