GIA Awards 2019
Atelier Ten are delighted to announce three wins at the GIA Awards 2019:
- Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, Bellahouston with Nord Architecture was this year’s Supreme Award winner at the GIA Awards. Atelier Ten provided the building services, environmental and fire engineering to the hospice bringing 21st century care to the people of Glasgow.
- Edinburgh Printmakers, Edinburgh with Page\Park Architects won the Leisure and Art category. Atelier Ten provided fire engineering services for this Grade C listed former rubber factory transforming it into a world-class cultural facility. Atelier Ten developed a fire strategy to justify escape issues caused by the redevelopment of the building. The building had extended travel distances and inner rooms, and Atelier Ten were able to provide a cost effective solution to justify the non-compliances to the satisfaction of the local authorities.
- North East Campus, Dundee with Holmes Miller was commended in the Education category. Atelier Ten provided the building services, environmental engineering, energy modelling, daylight analysis and fire engineering for this new 700 pupil school that has set a new standard for primary education in Scotland.
