Stoke CBD receives BREEAM Excellent
Atelier Ten has just secured the interim BREEAM Excellent certificate for the first phase of Stoke Central Business District. The phase consisted of two buildings (Building A and Building B) designed to help regenerate the degrading centre of the Potteries.
Located in the newly designed business district in Hanely, one of the five towns of Stoke-on-Trent, Building A and Building B both garnered scores of more than 70% in the BREEAM ratings, resulting in an Excellent rating. This score was achieved with the integration of low-energy environmental systems, high-performing facades and a connection to the wider district heating scheme that forms part of the regeneration programme.
These ratings are a landmark for the development team’s vision for a cohesive Central Business District connected with the cultural and university quarters of Stoke-on-Trent and its continuous improvement for both the city and the environment. Atelier Ten is pleased that the hard work of everyone involved has achieved such a successful project.
