Panos Bakos LEED AP BD+C

Associate, San Francisco

Panos is an Associate in Atelier Ten’s San Francisco office and the co-leader of the Energy Analysis practice. Panos brings a holistic approach to the interdisciplinary design of high-performing buildings with his extensive and diverse experience in HVAC systems optimization and sustainability. He strives to curb climate change through rapid decarbonization of the built environment and evaluates the impacts of climate change on building design and operation decisions.

Panos brings over 10 years of experience, managing projects of all scales and types ranging from masterplans, academic complexes, museums, hospitals and commercial buildings. He develops integrated solutions focused on all-electric design, energy framework, carbon strategy and performance goal setting, for projects that seek net zero targets.

Panos has served on the board of IBPSA-USA and IBPSA SF-BA chapter, both non-profit organizations that promote and advance building performance simulation in order to improve the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of new and existing buildings worldwide. He holds a Master of Engineering in Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus.
