Panos is an Associate in Atelier Ten’s San Francisco office and co-leader of the firm’s Energy Analysis Practice. As an experienced energy analyst, he applies a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to designing high-performing buildings. His core expertise is in HVAC systems optimization and building sustainability, driven by a strong commitment to rapid decarbonization. He evaluates climate change impacts into design and supports his clients’ decision-making process with data-driven results.
Panos manages diverse projects that span from large-scale masterplans and academic institutions to cultural buildings and hospitals. His work consistently pushes beyond traditional benchmarks like LEED to achieve net-zero energy and deep decarbonization goals. He specializes in developing integrated solutions focused on energy frameworks, carbon strategy, and performance target setting. Panos’ current work includes the Austin Convention Center, positioned to be the world’s first zero-carbon convention center; the biophilic, mixed-use 3401 La Cienega project; a confidential healthcare campus in Texas; and the Natural History Museum of Utah, targeting Net Zero Energy.
Panos holds an M. Engineering in Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus.
