Bret Mantyk to moderate Urban Green Author Talk event

Bret Mantyk, Senior Environmental Designer of Atelier Ten, will moderate Urban Green’s first speaker event of the year with a highly anticipated  discussion with Alexandros Washburn, Chief Urban Designer of the New York Department of City Planning, on Thursday 30, 2014 at 6:00 p.m at 3form in New York City.

The discussion will explore how building professionals, planners and everyday citizens can harness the nature of urban design to transform their neighborhoods. Alexandros will explain how sustainability and resilience are related through the global risk equation and call for a new, pragmatic approach to design that benchmarks the technical aspects of resilience while never losing sight of the ultimate object of urban design — to improve the quality of civic life.
