Fire engineering team scoop two awards at the RIAS Awards 2019

Atelier Ten’s fire engineering team are delighted to have worked on two of the ten winners at this year’s RIAS Awards. The winners are:

  • Broomlands Primary School, Kelso with Stallan-Brand

Judges said: “The visitor to this building is engaged from the moment of arrival at the site by the powerful imagery of the cantilevered projecting pointed roofs and the cobalt stone gabion external walls.” The “flexible variety” of internal spaces have direct access to the exterior play areas and mature landscaped gardens. This continues on the first floor level via seamlessly connected integrated walkways.

  • Tollcross housing Association Offices, Glasgow with Elder & Cannon Architects

Judges said that the new headquarters was “a rigorously ordered and beautifully detailed solution” for a significant site. The open-plan office spaces are arranged as a series of rising, interconnecting volumes linked by a central sculptural staircase resulting in an “elegant and refined building.”

Congratulations to all the winners and we wish you the best of luck at the National Awards.
