Leader of Atelier Ten’s Melbourne office, David has a wealth of experience in delivering cutting-edge environmental design solutions. Internationally, he has led multi-residential Passivhaus developments in China, exemplar school and higher education design solutions and large-scale urban sustainability master planning projects for blue-chip commercial developers and government organisations.
In Australia, David has advised Monash University on development of pioneering new sustainable design standards for new-build and existing building retrofits across their campus. In regional Victoria, he has led the sustainable design strategy for an innovative off-grid regenerative development and the environmental design for a private art gallery including daylighting and energy performance. He is currently working on the development of innovative solutions for affordable housing in Melbourne through application of high performance building fabric and maximizing on-site renewable energy potential.
David regularly presents at industry knowledge sharing forums and events and is highly experienced as an environmental design educator at universities in the UK and Australia. He continues to work at the University of Melbourne, teaching Environmental Building Systems and tutoring Masters level design studios.
