The Fire Engineering Team win two awards at the 2025 RIAS Awards

Atelier Ten is delighted to have delivered the fire engineering for two outstanding projects recognised at the 2025 RIAS Awards.

The Nucleus Building at the University of Edinburgh is a flagship for collaborative learning and research, where Atelier Ten developed a holistic fire engineering strategy to support the open-plan and central atrium design. This involved alternative solutions for extended travel distances, escape past openings, distance between escape routes, and external fire spread. Using advanced fire and evacuation modelling, supported by enhanced smoke detection and an automatic smoke control system for the atrium, we ensured safe evacuation while supporting Sheppard Robson to maintain design flexibility.

At Riverside Primary School in Perth, Scotland’s first certified Passivhaus school, Atelier Ten provided strategic fire engineering advice and supported Architype through the building warrant process. We’re proud to have collaborated with these forward-thinking clients and design teams in delivering safe, sustainable, and award-winning buildings.
