Senior Environmental Designer, New York

Utilize in-house and external analysis software and production of project deliverables as assigned to support project teams with technical analysis. Model and analyze building system operation and perform energy analysis with analytical software to advise on potential improvements for sustainability. Perform building minimum ventilation calculations and thermal comfort studies. Lead project tasks under the direction of the project manager for client communications, project scope and finances, and internal team coordination. Provide information or respond to technical questions from clients and the design team to discuss technical analysis results. Contribute to the quality assurance process of internal project teams by staying current with accurate project information or coordinating with project managers. Responsible for assigned technical requirements, deliverables, and project framing. Review and file mechanical, architectural, electrical and plumbing drawings from team members to track design changes. Plan tasks to meet project deadlines within the allocated time and budget. Participate in meetings and support charrettes. Author project deliverables such as reports, client memos, technical studies and illustrations. Contribute to the development of at least one of the firm’s consulting practices under the supervision of the practice leader.

 

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Environmental Building Design, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Landscape Architecture, or a related field. Requires three (3) years of experience in a related occupation, including some knowledge or experience in the following skills: Energy and thermal modeling and analysis, including cost and benefit analysis and Daylight modeling and analysis; Advising and performing research on building material sourcing, specifically green building materials; Design software proficiency such as AutoCAD, RHINO, Revit and Adobe Suites; HVAC systems and controls monitoring; LEED AP accredited and WELL AP accredited; Technical writing in environmental design; Ability to read, interpret, and analyze building design documents and blueprints; and Architectural requirements for energy code compliance.

 

Salary: $96,346 – $115,000 per year
