Willis Building, Friars Street

with Cushman & Wakefield and HLW Architects

The Willis Building in Ipswich is one of the first buildings designed by leading Architect Norman Foster following the creation of Foster Associates. The building houses some 1,300 office staff in open plan offices spread over three floors. The building has achieved iconic status as a landmark development in the ‘high tech’ architectural style and is Grade I listed.

The Atelier Ten Commercial team have been leading the services design in a phased refurbishment for this iconic building.

A completely new low-energy lighting strategy has been developed along with adapting a mechanical services strategy with the client in full operation during the refurbishment.

The new lighting scheme has transformed the interior space into a fantastic working environment for the staff.
