Noumea Waterfront Project featured on French television news

Atelier Ten is collaborating with Woods Bagot on the masterplan for the Noumea Waterfront development in New Caledonia. Noumea is endangered by lack of sustainable water, food, and energy sources, and by a reliance on hazardous nickel mining for income. The government has therefore placed zero-carbon development as an urgent goal.

Atelier Ten is developing an ambitious roadmap to zero-carbon that will include site-level strategies including passive buildings, walkable streetscapes, carefully-zoned nature reserves, and mixed-use, high-density neighborhoods.

Atelier Ten Director, Paul Stoller, and Senior Environmental Designer, Emma Marchant, are working on this project.
