Madhav Munshi and Dan Tuhus-Dubrow on Energy Model Calibration

Environmental Designers Madhav Munshi and Dan Tuhus-Dubrow will give a talk on Energy Modeling: Calibration and other Challenges in Working with Existing Buildings for the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) on February 21, 2012.   

Madhav and Dan will present two very different ways of approaching energy model calibration using Atelier Ten’s projects Yale Sculpture and Toledo Zoo as case studies. They will explore core issues in modeling: What are the essential elements of a building energy model? What makes for a good one? What kind of accuracy should be expected? What kinds of quality control should be applied? And how do modelers acquire appropriate levels of expertise?
