Holburne Museum and University of the Arts, King’s Cross each receive RIBA award

Atelier Ten are proud to have contributed to two RIBA award-winning buildings. As RIBA award winners, both Holburne Museum and University of the Arts, King’s Cross now appear on the RIBA Stirling Prize longlist, the UK’s most prestigious architecture prize. Every year it is presented to the architects of the building that has made the greatest contribution to the evolution of architecture in the past year. The prize is for projects ‘built or designed in Britain’.

The Holburne Museum, Bath, with Eric Parry Architects
A controversial intervention into Bath’s historic fabric, Parry’s extension boldly went against the historic grain, with dark glass, ceramic fins and an unashamedly modern form. The neo-classicist brigade wasn’t happy, but visitors are.

University of the Arts, London, with Stanton Williams
The conversion of old industrial buildings next to King’s Cross station into an inspiring new arts campus with a dramatic covered street at its heart.
