Children’s Library Discovery Center

Atelier Ten’s first project with the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is featured in New York Times!  Atelier Ten provided Environmental Design consulting, Energy Analysis, and LEED administrative services for the Children’s Library Discovery Center at Queens Central Public Library in Jamaica, Queens. With Atelier Ten’s guidance, the building exceeded the DDC’s high-performance design guidelines with particular attention given to the design of a high-performance envelope, the incorporation of a high-efficiency building system, and the careful balance of lighting and daylighting to create a better thermal and visual environment. The project is targeted to achieve LEED Silver Level certification.
