Atelier Ten Speaks at SCUP North Atlantic Region Conference 2012

The Society for College and University Planning welcomes members of Atelier Ten as presenters at the North Atlantic Region 27th annual conference.  The presentations will take place on April 12th at the City University of New York (CUNY).

Associate Wendy Meguro and Environmental Designer Brian Coffey will speak on the topic of Reducing Carbon Emissions with Cogeneration Central Energy Plants.  They will discuss how on-campus cogeneration can reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions for university campuses, and analyze and compare different cogeneration options such as biomass boilers, steam turbines, gas turbines, and micro turbines.

Nico Kienzl, Director at Atelier Ten, will also be presenting along with Dan Arons from Architerra and William Haverly from University System of New Hampshire. Their presentation, titled Zero Net Energy Buildings and Meeting the Presidents’ Climate Commitment, will provide a building and a masterplanning case study to illustrate decision points in sustainable planning with the goal of meeting the Presidents’ Climate Commitment.  In addition, the presentation will also discuss the value and challenges of integrated energy modeling from the building to campus scale.
