Lighting for Genomic Research

Atelier Ten New Haven Director Mark Loeffler will speak at the IES-hosted Genomics of Design event in Farmington, CT on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Steve Palumbo of Tsoi/Kobus & Associates in Cambridge, MA and Andrew Santaniello of Centerbrook Architects and Planners in Centerbrook, CT will join Mark for a discussion about lighting design and the built environment of the Jackson Laboratory of Genomic Medicine, an independent, non-profit, biomedical research institution whose mission is to discover precise genomic solutions for disease.

Atelier Ten provided lighting design services on the Jackson Laboratory, utilizing biophilic forms and generously daylit gathering spaces to enhance occupant satisfaction and circadian wellbeing. Lighting for the high-profile interior spaces was integrated with daylight and interior finishes to provide a compelling visual experience while minimizing the connected lighting power density and lighting energy use.
