Strategy

The renovation of the Queens Central Public Library and the extension of the Children’s Library Discovery Center exemplifies innovative design and operation. Atelier Ten assisted in the sustainability strategies that were implemented including a high-performance façade, 100% fresh air system, radiant floor heating, energy-efficient artificial lighting, recycled and low-emitting materials, and optimization of daylight to create a better thermal and visual environment. Atelier Ten’s collaborative approach developed a successful and sustainable lighting design to meet the qualitative needs of the visual environment.
